3000 days later – A changing mother/daughter duo

In 2015, Satchie and Yumi embarked on the creation of a mother–daughter duo: mA.
On stage, they are partners in dance invoking their roles, their genealogy, and their departed. They explore, without making concessions one to the other, the limits of their dialogue and their audacity.

Picking up the conversation today where they left off, they reinvent this space for exchange and for play.

Over ten years, the challenges, bonds, and capacities have evolved — as have their bodies.
Now head-to-head, body-to-body and elbow-to-elbow once more, they give rise to a new dance.

With this rewriting of their duo, Satchie and Yumi imagine a format that seeks out families in the heart of neighborhoods, in local community spaces (social centers, libraries, community centers, schools…). A format that molds itself around the spectator like a spatial, temporal, and familial cocoon.

The performance and participatory workshops are intimately linked.
