Retour à Ominato - Short choreographic film
Short choreographic film
In 2012, Satchie Noro took up the cargo voyage that her father, Masamichi Noro, had undertaken in 1961, when his master, Morihei Ueshiba, had missioned him to develop aikido in Europe and in Africa. Traveling from Marseilles to Ominato, his native village.
The film documents danced improvisations all around the cargo during these 42 days at sea. A dance of metamorphosis that Satchie Noro filmed herself.

" Aikido is not what is conveyed through movement, but what is conveyed well before the form emerges, because aikido belongs to the spiritual world of emptiness… There is neither form nor style in aikido, the movement is that of nature, whose secret is profound and infinite.”
Senseï Morihei Ueshiba
